Doing Things

This was such a fun month! It started off on with 4th of July weekend. We went to a friends pool party and also headed to a Round Rock Express game with some friends. It was the first time at a game and it was a lot of fun. We should have thought about the fact that it was July in Texas and it was going to be hot, but we survived. They had awesome fireworks too since it was the 4th weekend. I had my first alcoholic beverage that weekend since doing the Whole30. It was good, but I am definitely going to be more picky about when and what I am drinking.

The next weekend we went to Hamilton pool with two friends. GORGEOUS!! It is a natural pool about 45 minutes outside of Austin. Our friends had reservations but they couldn’t go so gave us a few tickets. I felt like I was in a tropical paradise. We relaxed, swam, ate, drank. Crazy to think this beautiful place is so close to our home. After the pool we went to Proof and Cooper, which our friends recommended. It is a bar and restaurant with tasty cocktails and delicious food. Everything we got was fried, but man it was good. I surprisingly didn’t take any pics haha!

July Rewind 2016

We hit up Blues on the Greens later that week with the Crush crew. So fun hanging out with your co-workers/friends outside of work. We also watched our friends dog. It makes me want a puppy and not want a puppy. So much commitment goes into getting a dog and I really like just going with the flow and doing what I want to do. But the cutest kills me.

July Rewind 2016

The bf is making a new career move so we celebrated with his favorite food, pizza! I got gluten free, which was good, but it wasn’t like like the real deal. The best part was we went to Snow Monster afterwards. It is like a snow cone on crack.

July Rewind 2016

The month ended with a brewery bike tour with our friends! They live a few miles from a handful our breweries so we decided to bike to them. Such a fun night! Turns out biking and being a little intoxicated is a little tricky. Michael fell off his bike haha!! Don’t worry, he was fine and only skinned his elbow a little.

Dang, that was a busy month!!

What I am loving

F.R.U.I.T. Literally can’t stop eating it. All the kinds, all the time. We have been on a watermelon kick (look out for a new recipe soon), cherries (duh), and pineapple. I don’t know what I am going to do when it is not in season anymore.

Kokonut Yogurt – I found this new local company at the farmers market the other weekend and it is bomb. Made from organic coconuts, a few natural ingredients, and no refined sugars or preservatives, this yogurt is the real deal. It is dairy and gluten free, and also paleo!

Mothers Culture – another yogurt found at the farmers market. It is from cow’s milk, but is full fat and from grass fed cows. I got the lemon kind and it is to die for. My stomach seemed to do perfectly fine with it as well! I can’t wait for when my parents visit and my mom can try it 🙂

Changing up my Monday posts to a workout recap. I am not sure most people read those, but it is a good way to keep me accountable. I really love working out so if I can inspire just one person with a workout I post, then I will feel like it is totally worth it. I just gotta remember to write them down during the week so I remember!

July Rewind 2016

This summer is flying by! Things I’m looking forward to in August is a beach vacation and my birthday! Any ideas on what I should do? Obviously eat some good food somewhere! Follow along on Instagram!

I just started reading your blog and I love the weekly workout posts. I mostly create my own crossfit-style workouts because I’m in a remote location with access to a great gym but no crossfit box. Seeing what others are doing for workouts is inspiring and also (sometimes) keeps me from just choosing the WODs that play to my strengths.

Thank you so much, you just made my day! I totally understand too. When I am away from my gym I usually just do workouts that I will be good at!
