A recap of my weekly workouts from the previous week.

Weekly Workouts

Happy Monday! It is Sunday for me and I am sitting at home writing this recap while watching the CrossFit games. Sitting on my couch watching fitness haha. But holy f*** these athletes are insane. I consider myself somewhat good at CrossFit, but these guys. Beasts.

It is pretty inspiring watching them. I have somewhat come to a point in my CrossFit journey that I am not too concerned with PR’ing every time and getting a lot stronger. I like where I am and am continuing to work on my movements, intensity, and endurance. But just watching the games this weekend wants me to do all the fitness all the time.

Sunday – CrossFit WOD

180 Assault Bike Calories
*every 20 calories = 10 burpees

I finished in 23:46. I wasn’t planning on working out, but the BF wanted to so I figured I would go with him. This was more of an active recovery. My gym did the workout earlier in the week so I figured I would give it a go. Their time cap was 24 minutes, which most didn’t finish, so I was happy with that time.

Monday – rest day

Tuesday – Crush workout & CrossFit WOD

5x:
10 goblet squats
10 burpees
then, 400m run
— 1 minute rest —
5x:
20 goblet lunges
10 kettlebell swings
then, 400m run
— 1 minute rest —
5x:
20 goblet step-ups
:30 plank
then, 400m run
— 1 minute rest —
5x:
10 push-ups
10 kettlebell sumo deadlift high pull

I usually don’t do 2 workouts a day, but felt pretty good that day. I only did the running portion of Crush though. On Tuesdays at CFCL we do an all girls class and one of us ladies picks/programs a workout. I usually like to jump into that if I can. Well this week was tough. It was a leg burner. It was a 30 minute cap, but there is no way you can do all that in 30 minutes. A few of us continued on and finished it up. Shit was rough. I used 35#.

Wednesday – CrossFit WOD

1 mile run
— 5 minute rest —
50 thrusters (75/55)
— 5 minute rest —
800 meter run

I finished in 23:04 RX. That 800 was rough.

Thursday – rest day – so freakin sore from the past 2 days

Friday – 7.5 mile run

Ran around Town Lake with my friend and then we jumped into Barton Springs. Best cool down ever!

Saturday – CrossFit WOD

Pyramid Double Helen (30:00 minute cap):
1200 meter run
63 kettlebell swings (53/35)
36 pull-ups
800m run
42 KB swings
24 pull-ups
400m run
21 KB swings
12 pull-ups

Throwing it back to the 2010 CrossFit Games. You can see just how far CrossFit has some by watching this clip. I finished in 26:02, but my hand ripped on the round of 24 pull-ups, so I switched to ring rows. Some of the CrossFit OG’s smoked this workout, even back then. Annie Thorisdottir – 17:53, Sam Briggs – 18:30, Graham Holmberg –  16:59, Chris Spealler – 17:02. Makes me feel not that fit ha!
