Recapping May 2018!
How is it June already?! Seriously the time is flying by, and that means one thing. We really need to start planning our wedding haha!! We have a date (November) and a few things lined up, but other than that not much. I’m more of a last minute planner, but apparently when you planning a big party and people are flying in from halfway across the country, that’s not okay.
Anyways, May was fun, so let’s get into it!

Doing Things
Started off the month by seeing Midland at the Kids in a New Groove concert! I admit that I didn’t know who they were, but apparently they are a big deal. They were pretty great! For Cinco de Mayo we went over to our friend’s house who has a pool. Totally wish we had a pool somedays. To finish off the first weekend, my friend had her baby shower. This is my first friend that is having a baby and I’m so excited!
The following week we checked out a potential band for our wedding and I think we found a winner!! They were awesome and I’m so excited. I also had a girls dinner with two of my good friends which is always nice. We made my buffalo chicken tenders, roasted asparagus, and corn bread.
The following weekend we checked out Lost Creek. Such a cool spot! I love finding these local watering holes in the city…it’s a nice little escape and you feel like you aren’t in the city anymore. We hit up Blue Dahlia Bistro for lunch and I had a delicious tuna nicoise salad. To cap off the weekend we finally checked out the Domain location of Steel City Pops. They are so much fun flavors and you can get toppings!!
I did a workout with my friends for Fitness in Republic Square and then we hit up True Food Kitchen afterwards. Finally tried it out and it was delish. Can’t wait to go back!
The next weekend I headed to Chicago with NOW Foods! We got to explore their facilities, get to know the company, workout, and eat good food. Then Michael flew out for the weekend and we just explored the city. So many fun things to do, see, and eat! I’ll have a full recap coming tomorrow!
I got to have breakfast with Alex from The Defined Dish and she is a gem. So kind and we just chatted about food, work, and life. We obviously met at Picnik for some paleo eats!
Memorial Day weekend was pretty low key for us – relaxed around the house, did some work, hit up Barton Springs, finally tried Sway, got more popsicles, and did Murph at home. Best way to finish the month!
Also, all throughout the month, I hosted classes at Athleta! They were HIIT classes that focused on bodyweight movements. I’m a huge fan of their clothes and mission and it was so fun doing something local with them!
What I am loving
The warmer weather!! Well it’s officially HOT here, but I mean we live in Texas, so what can you expect. Summer is my favorite as I love everything that comes along with it – BBQs, being by the water, the sunshine on your skin. I’m excited for this summer and being in our house.
Exploring a new city! It’s bee a little while since we traveled somewhere and I loved getting to see Chicago – the food, people, architecture, different parts of town…. Note to self to plan more travel!
I’m super excited for June! Got some fun things planned and my family is coming to visit!
