Recapping September 2017!
Hi and happy October! Where did September even go?? I was home for legit 8 days out of the month, it was insane. It all feels like blur haha. I also took a little break from the blog while I was in Portugal to just be in the moment and it was so nice. But I’m filling up October will all the recipes and recaps of my travels. Let’s get into it!

Man this month was packed with so much travel. I won’t go into too much detail here since I am going to try to do a recap of all the places, so it will just be a short rundown.
Labor Day weekend was pretty chill and honestly I don’t even remember what we did. I had just gotten back from traveling to Asheville, so I am guessing we took it easy. The next weekend we headed to Connecticut for one of Michael’s childhood friend’s wedding. It was so much fun! They had a bunch of fun of events throughout the few days we were there (like a bonfire on the beach with a pizza truck!) and we stayed in the cutest town right on the water.
That next week I headed to Baltimore for Expo East. I met up with some of my favorite blogging friends and got to meet a bunch of cool brands and other bloggers. It was a few days packed with food, friends, some fitness, and more food. Full recap coming soon.
After that I headed to my parent’s house for a few days until we left for Portugal the next week. We were there for 2 weeks and didn’t get back to Austin until October 2nd. We hit up Lisbon, Sintra, Porto, the Douro Valley, Evora, Lagos, and Cascais. It was so much fun and the country was amazing. I highly recommend if you are thinking about it!
What I am loving
Umm. Europe. Being in Portugal for 2 weeks was a little life changing. I know that sounds so dramatic, but it was amazing. From the culture, history, food, wine, cities to beaches, and everything in-between, I loved it. It really has me thinking about eating more locally and changing my lifestyle some. More on that later though.
Taking a break for 2 weeks. It was nice to be in halfway across the world and not connected to the internet/my phone all the time. Also taking a break from my normal eating and exercise routines. I ate all the things and barely worked out at all (we did a bunch of walking though) and my body barely changed at all. I think my mind and body needed a break from my daily hustle. I’ll talk more on that later though.
Cupping! I tried it for the first time in Baltimore and loved it! I was experiencing a lot of bloating from eating too much crap at Expo East and within 10 minutes of me getting it done, the bloating was already going down some. It was kinda crazy. We went to Charm City Integrative if you are in the Baltimore area – it was a great experience!
We don’t have nearly as much going on in October. I’m ready to relax some at home!
