A recap of my weekly workouts from the previous week.

Weekly Workouts Recap

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. We have just been straight up relaxing. It’s been so nice after some traveling and more traveling coming up.

Last week was pretty chill in the working out department. I traveled to Asheville, NC to be with my family for a few days and working out wasn’t on the top of my agenda. While I usually like to do some travel WODs or go to a local CrossFit, I decided to take it easy.

I’ve been working pretty hard lately on my strength and putting in a lot of time in the gym – training for that competition (that was rescheduled to a different date and I won’t be in town for – boo!) while also doing some regular WODs. This trip was a great way to give my body a little rest and recuperate. I love working out, but our bodies need time to recover and rebuild after all the hard work we put it through. This was a great way to take advantage of that.

That being said, we did go hiking on two different days. One day with a shorter hike and another with a long 15 mile hike. I haven’t hiked much, but my sister and her boyfriend enjoy it and wanted to go, so I tagged along. It was a great way to get moving and stay active while still enjoying my family and seeing and exploring a new place. And man was I sore the next day.

When traveling, you don’t always need to do your typical workout routine. Look for things like hiking, paddle boarding, exploring the city, or even just going for a walk in the evening. I think as long as you are moving your body in some way, it counts!

Sunday – rest day

Monday – hiking

3 mile hike in Asheville, NC

Tuesday – hiking

15 mile hike – we hiked Mt. Cammerer in the Smoky Mountains

Wednesday – rest day

Thursday – rest day/travel day

Friday – CrossFit City Limits open gym

every 90 seconds x 9 sets:
power clean + 2 hang squat cleans

3 RFT:
400m run
20 kettlebell swings (70/53)
20 wallballs (20/14)

I worked up to 115 (I think – didn’t squat on the last 2 rounds) and finished in 12:35 using 45#. Usually this is a WOD I would crush, but man I was not feeling it that day.

Saturday – CrossFit City Limits open gym

strength work with programming from my coach

21-15-9
assault bike calories
GHD sit-up
5:00 REST
15-12-9
assault bike calories
toes 2 bar

I finished in 15:45 – we only rested 3 and a half minutes since we were on a time crunch.

Woah, a 15 miles hike sounds beautiful and intense! I’m so glad you got some good hiking in with your family. šŸ™‚ It’s always awesome to get out into God’s creation.

It was so amazing! I haven’t done much hiking, but I can see how people love it. It is so beautiful to see the earth from a different point of view!
