An easy fun fall recipe, these Savory Apple Nachos would be great for different occasions – an after school snack, a laid back get-together, and even a football tailgate!

Fall is here and so is all the fall produce! Even though you can get apples all year round, they are in season right now and so so good. One thing I love to do in the fall is pick apples. Unfortunately I don’t think there is  anywhere to do that in Austin, at least not that I know of. If you know, please let me know!

The only problem with picking apples is you have literally 30 apples on hand and you definitely need to get creative with using them.  My mom used to make homemade applesauce or I have made apple butter before. You can also add them to meatballs, make sandwiches, or make cookies. The possibilities are endless. I decided to make nachos for a fun appetizer or snack!

I’m sure you have seen apple nachos before, but I wanted to do a little different spin on them. I’ve seen sweet ones all over the place, but never savory. These apple nachos combine fresh apples, prosciutto, cheese, nuts, and a little honey and lemon. That’s it. And there isn’t any cooking required so they come together in less than 5 minutes.

They are really customizable to your liking as well. If you like walnuts instead of pecans, add those instead. If you don’t want them as sweet, leave out the honey. Maybe bacon instead of prosciutto?! That would require some cooking though. I’m thinking a sprinkle of cinnamon would be pretty fabulous too. Have fun with them!
