What I Ate Wednesday

Next episode of ‘What I Ate Wednesday’. We really needed to go food shopping for the past couple of days, but got caught up doing other things around the house. So there was slim pickings.

I woke up at little before 6 so I could go to CrossFit at 6:30. I was a tad hungry so I had an apple fritter. It helped me get through the 20 minute AMRAP of double unders, burpees, and heavy thrusters. I hate double unders. I get so out of breath and tired from them, and I am not very good. I have my good and bad days, which just means I need to practice more.

I had breakfast around 8:30 and it was delicious. I had a leftover piece of the Buffalo Chicken Casserole that I posted on the blog yesterday.  If you haven’t checked it out, you definitely should, it’s quite delicious. I also had a piece of Ezekiel Spouted Flax Bread for some carbs after my workout. I put some of the casserole on the bread, which was delightful.

Hunger hit around noon, so I finally decided to make something. It was literally a mish-mosh of what we had left in the fridge. A salad of some steamed broccoli, roasted beets, carrots, leftover tuna steak, grapefruit, and avocado. I tossed it with some coconut aminos, mustard, and hot sauce. It actually turned out really good, and it was so pretty.

Around 4 I decided I should have a snack to hold me over till dinner. Luckily we had one apple, so sliced it up and had it with a tablespoon of chocolate almond butter.

After work we got caught up cleaning the house so finally around 7 I decided to make something, pretty much the last of the protein in the house. We had grassfed beef burgers with some parsnip fries and a curry yogurt dipping sauce. When I was taking the picture of it noticed how pathetic it looked. No greens or anything colorful. We really need to go to the store.

After dinner snack was some cottage cheese mixed with chocolate protein powder topped with frozen berries. It was the first time I tried cottage cheese with protein powder. I have seen people on Instagram mix them together and make stuff out of it. It was interesting…I definetly added too much protein powder to the ratio of cottage cheese. When I was making it the bf goes “that looks like that dot ice cream”. He was pretty spot on that it does look like dip and dots. That stuff is strange, how does it say in those balls? Has to be something weird going on.

That’s it for today’s eats. Not to exciting this week. I’ll have to set up my game next week with some new eats in the rotation. And go to the grocery store, that would help.
