Beach WOD 08/21/15

Beach Workout

Vacation can be tough with staying on track. It is time where you want to enjoy yourself, but not get too carried away from the progress you have made. I definitely try to squeeze in some workouts or running while away. God knows my eating and drinking will be no where near it usually is, so at least if I am burning some extra calories I can have some kind of balance.

Two weeks ago we left for a week long vacation with Michael’s family in North Carolina. They rent a big house right on the ocean and a bunch of his family comes. It is super nice to get away and to just unplug for a week. That being said, a lot of the time there is spent on eating and drinking. Like snacks, on snacks, on snacks and drinking every night. Three years ago when I first went on their vacation I was all about it. Now as I am a little older and more in-tune about my health, I don’t enjoy eating processed food (it makes me feel like crap), getting drunk every night, and not being productive the next day. Honestly I don’t think my body could handle it either.

Beach WOD

So to help me stay on track I did a few workouts during the week we were there. This one was inspired by The Pretty Little Lifters, who I follow on Instagram. They are really inspiring, along with having killer bodies. I slightly modified a workout they posted the other week.

4 Rounds for Time:
400 meter run
50 air squats
15 sprawl tuck jumps

I did this on the beach in the sand. Running and jumping in the sand is no joke. I finished in 18:50, but it was in no way my best performance. I will try this again at some point and see if I do better, which I think I will. Give it a go and let me know how it is. Or save it for the next vacation or trip you are on. Any kind of workout is better than no workout!!
