Fun and festive paleo & Whole30 dish with only a few ingredients, a Bacon Wrapped Asparagus Wreath makes the perfect appetizer or side at holiday gatherings!
Bacon wrapped asparagus wreaths?! I mean can it not get anymore festive than this?!
And this is my attempt at being crafty. I mean you gotta give me some credit right?! While I used to think of myself as pretty creative and crafty person growing up, when it comes to food I keep it pretty simple. I like to showcase the food and don’t want to make it look overcomplicated for people to make. So while it may mot be one of those Pinterest master pieces you see on the internet, it is fun and realistic.
And it is so so good!! I mean you can’t really go wrong with bacon on most things? I was never a huge on bacon growing up, but as I have gotten older it has grown on me. And there are just certain things it goes so well it. Like asparagus. Or maybe that is just most veggies. Either way, the combo works and is delicious.
These wreaths are super simple. All you need is bacon, asparagus, a little cooking oil, and pepper. I added some cranberries to make it look festive and then some ranch for a dipping sauce, but not necessary. You just need to take a few pieces of asparagus and wrap them in a half piece of bacon so they hold tighter. Roast until they are done and assemble.
The assembly is really the key to this recipe. Put them on a bigger platter and decorate it up! Fun food is good food! You could also make this ahead of time and then assemble before you head out to a party or have people over. I totally ate the leftovers cold and it was still just as delicious!
Happy crafting!
