Vacation WOD

U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A! What an amazing game that was!! Even if you don’t follow soccer, hopefully you were watching and getting into the spirit. No better way to end 4th of July weekend!! I started playing soccer when I was just 5 years old and continued until the end of college playing in intramural leagues. It is such an amazing team sport.

True story – I was in the in the 1999 Women’s World Cup opening ceremony at Giants Stadium. I still have the shirt we wore and wear it from time to time…talk about an old t-shirt haha. Not sure if all the girls on the field were more excited for Mia Hamm or ‘N Sync…every young girls dream.

Last weekend we were back on the East coast for a few weddings. I didn’t have access to a gym and didn’t really feel like paying to drop into another CrossFit so I just made up this workout. It is a great endurance workout along with getting in some body movement stuff to break up the running. I wore my heart rate monitor and burned around the same amount of calories I would during a 4 mile run.

I will probably do this workout again in the future. I think I can easily beat my time as well. Last week involved a lot more drinking than I usually do and a lot of freedom in my eating (aka pizza, ice cream, wedding cake, chips…). It’s nice to have a break and some fun, but I really do like to eat healthy and feel my best. To say am I excited to be back home and back in my routine is an understatement.

Give the workout a try and let me know how it goes!
