Doing Things
This month was actually pretty slow for us. I was invited to a dinner at Lakeway Austin Resort and Spa which was awesome. The resort was so pretty, it was right on the lake, they have a few pools, a huge banquet hall for parties (maybe our wedding?!), and most important, the food was on point! If you are in Austin, it is a great place to get away for the weekend.
Other than that not much, except buying a house!! I won’t go into all the details now as I will be posting some things about it this week, but we are so excited! We closed on the 17th and are officially moved in a week later. It feels so good to be in place we can call our own.
We obviously celebrated at Pinthouse Pizza that night – it’s right across the street from our old house and pretty much our go-to place to an easy celebration.
On Thanksgiving I ran the turkey trot (5 miles) with our two friends and then we headed over there later for Thanksgiving. We deep fried a turkey, made some sides and desserts, and enjoyed some drinks – nothing too crazy, but a lot of fun.
To finish off the month, Michael turned 30 on the 30th! We kept it low key that day by making some nachos and I got him an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Ice cream cake for the win!
What I am loving
Having a brand new kitchen!! We have had a few issues with getting things to work and installations, but it just feels so dang good to have a bigger space. Our old place was so so cramped, it was hard to work in. I’m excited to have a lot more space to create you guys some recipes!
Deep frying a turkey! We did it for the first time this year with our friends for Thanksgiving and it was so good! The meat is so juicy and the skin gets nice and crispy. I definitely recommend if you have the equipment to do it.
Bring on the last month of the year!
