Half way through the month of April and here I am with my March recap. One of these days I will get this post out at the actual end of the month haha. Last month had some exciting things for ETG, some fun outings, yummy eats (duh), and relaxing. Let’s get to it!

Doing Things

I started off March with a bang! Celebrated my friend’s bday with a delicious meal out. Then the first weekend was the first week of the Open and I got not only 1, but 2 bar muscle-ups!! I did one last year but haven’t done one since, so that was exciting.

March Rewind 2017

The following weekend I was invited to the FeedFeed’s SXSW influencer/content creator media lounge to speak on meal prepping! I did a live demo of how to use prepped food (focus on crockpot chicken, rice, and roasted veggies) in 4 different ways — the first pic in this post is the final products. They streamed it live on their Instagram stories and it was so fun! It was a great experience for me to get in front of some people (although it was small) and talk/demo making food. Michael and I also attended their party at Backbeat, which was a lot of fun. It was nice talking to the founders of FeedFeed too. They are so nice and down to earth!

Michael and I also attended the Jansport party at SXSW. We have gone every year since we moved here since Michael’s cousin works for them and gets up VIP passes. The main act was lil yachty, which I had (and still don’t know) no idea who he was. We didn’t stay for his performance since he was coming on at like 1am, but the openers were good. And free s’mores, so I was happy about that!

The rest of the month was pretty chill. To finish it out my friend and I competed in a local comp called the Horrible Hundred and placed second. The recap is linked above.

What I am loving

COLLARD WRAPS!! Okay that was intense, but I have been obsessed with them lately. There are so many things you can throw in them and they always turn out amazing. You can see some of my examples here, here, and here. If you make one tag me @eatthegains on Instagram so I can see!

I’ve also been on a pretty big salad kick lately. Or really just bowl meals in general. Throw whatever I have in the fridge on top of some lettuce and make some kind of easy dressing. Usually it is tahini based. And by thrown, I mean make it look pretty so I can take a picture of it for Insta ha.

March Rewind 2017

Speaking of tahini, I’ve been loving this new brand I found called Soom Foods. They make a regular and then a chocolate one! Besides the chocolate being amazing, the regular is so smooth and creamy, and it doesn’t get that separation like a lot of the kinds you get in the store. The company is owned by 3 sisters in Philadelphia. I’m all about supporting women in the real food business and I grew up outside Philly! If you are looking to try it, use this link to save 10%.
