Recapping January 2017!
How are we already one month into January?! I swear the older you get, the faster times goes. Now that just makes me sound old. But seriously, I can’t believe we are already down one month in 2017! How has your year been going so far? Have you been keeping true to the intentions you set in the beginning of the year?
I have been pretty committed to eating clean and getting in 5-6 hard workouts a week. I definitely need to work on my ‘me time’ though and take a step back and look at the big picture. I am definitely improving on that though! Let’s get into the business…

Doing Things
The start of the year was kind of crazy for us. We had my family for a week, Michael’s sister for a handful of days, and then Michael’s parents for a handful of days. Talk about a busy household. It was great to see everyone, but I was definitely ready for some personal space after that.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve at our friends house. They had a small party and it was so much fun! Lots of games, drinking, drinking games, some fireworks, and even pull-ups off a tree branch. That is what happens when a bunch of CrossFitters drink.
The next weekend Michael’s parents were here for the JMU football game. They played in the AA National Championship game in Dallas and won! A bunch of our friends flew in from the east coast which was pretty awesome too. We don’t get to see them that often so it was fun celebrating and hanging out with them. Texas had freak cold weather that weekend and it was in the 20-30s during the game. Crazy!
The next few weekends we just chilled. We had so much going on for a few weeks that we both just wanted to do nothing. Well nothing isn’t exactly the right word. If you haven’t seen on my Instagram, I started a little meal prep business where I am making healthy meals for people and delivering them. It is just people at my CrossFit now, so I just bring them up to the gym, but it has been really fun. Some weeks I am making 100 meals! So that has taken up a lot of my time on the weekends. I will go into more detail probably later this month once everything is set up the way I would like.
That being said, I am a lot more busier than normal. I haven’t been able to post 2 recipes a week this month like I normally do. I’m hoping to get back on that schedule soon though!
What I am loving
Making meals for people! Well it hasn’t been all rainbows and butterflies, and honestly it was really stressful when I first started, but I can now say I’m in the grove of prepping and cooking in big batches and it has been a lot of fun! Michael has been helping me out some too which has been a life safer.
Counting my macros! I haven’t really mentioned it much, but I started to count them again a few weeks ago. I had stopped after my marathon with all our visitors and holiday celebrations, but I am back on it again. I am really looking to improvement my performance in the gym and lean out a little. Real, whole, nutrient dense food is still my focus, but it is nice to be able splurge ever once in awhile with something I know will work just fine for my body. Like waffles!
Making videos! I made my first one here, and I’m hoping to make a lot more for you guys!

100 meals!?!?! Woah, that is crazy amazing. And I tried one round of one of the workouts you sent me. Wow. Crossfit athletes are so tough.

So many meals right?! I’m so glad you liked the workout! They are tough, but they get better if you keep working on it!
