Doing Things
The month started out with CrossFit City Limit’s 5 year anniversary party. Technically it was the end of July, but whatever. We rented a boat and had a big boat party – so much fun! It’s fun to hang out with everyone outside of the gym too.
We headed to Pittsburgh to watch one of my best friends from high school get married. We have been friends for over 15 years, how insane is that? Makes me feel old haha. It was a quick trip, but was so much fun.
A few days later after we got home, Michael PROPOSED TO ME!! WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!! I already talked about our engagement story, so you can check that out. I’m usually good at guessing surprises, but he completely surprised me. We are so excited! The handful of days/week after consisted of lots of celebrating.
The last weekend was my birthday weekend. We went to a concert benefiting Kids in New Groove on Friday, then on Saturday we hit up Bonhomie for dinner and went to our friend’s house to celebrate and watch the fight, and on Sunday just chilled and made dinner at home. As much as I love trying new restaurants, a delicious meal at home always has my heart.
On Monday morning I left for Asheville, NC to hang out with my family for a few days. It was so fun and the weather was perfect. We hiked, ate lot of good food, and explored the town. I am going to do a full recap soon.
What I am loving
Za’atar seasoning – I don’t know how I just discovered it, but man is it delicious. I’ve been putting it on everything – eggs, cauliflower, potatoes, carrots…you name it, I’ll try it.
Frozen watermelon – we’ve been making this watermelon sorbet pretty regularly, but when I’m too lazy to actually make it, I just eat the frozen watermelon. So good!
Bonhomie – I’ve only been there once, but it was so good. Not going to lie, when I looked at their menu, I wasn’t that excited. But everything was amazing that we tried and I can’t wait to go back. They have a great happy hour too!
This month is going to be hard to beat, but September is full of so many things – weddings, Expo East, and Portugal, it’s going to be awesome!
