Recapping March 2016!
Hi there! I have been doing some thinking and want to start adding more things other than recipes to the blog. It is still going to mostly recipe and workout focused, but there are a few things I am excited to add. First, I will be doing recaps of the end of each month. These will just have the recipes I created, some workouts, recipes I have tried, things I have read (need to start reading), what I did, and what not. It will also be a great way for me to look back on what was going on in my life in the future! So here goes the first addition!

Doing things
This month was filled with so much fun!! We went to the KU vs UT basketball with some friends. Technically this was February 29th, but whatever. Some of our friends are diehard KU fans so it was a blast going with them. Then our friends from college came and visited for a few days. We did some touristy things like South Congress Street, Mount Bonnell, graffiti park, walked Lady Bird Lake, ate, drank, Rainey Street, and ate and drank some more. We cooked a few meals, but also ate at El Alma, Republic of Sandwich (2x!), and Via 313. They had a great time and really enjoyed Austin.
We also partook in some SXSW festivities. We headed to the Jansport Bonfire party for the second year thanks to Michael’s cousin. The night was filled with free drinks, s’mores, and some good music. I did the Moontower Run hosted by Rogue Running with a friend. We ran 8 miles downtown at night. I never run down there so it was cool to see the city from a different perspective other than a car. We tried out Elizabeth St. Cafe for a date night and it delivered. Pho was delicious and I will dream about those macaroons.
I also attended an Austin Food Blogger Alliance happy hour at Ra Sushi. It’s nice to go out with other food bloggers and no one judges when you want to take pictures of everything haha! We had an assortment of sushi and non-sushi items, and the hospitality there was wonderful!
What I am loving
Still addicted to my green smoothie. I probably drink it at least 6 days of out the week. I usually don’t use as much liquid and use frozen spinach. Sometimes I added protein powder. If I am lucky and don’t have to be at work at the crack of dawn, I make a bowl out of it.
Hummusapien’s curried chickpea salad. Only made it once, but am going to make it again soon! It is a meal prep necessity for sure.
How Sweet Eat’s favorite greek salad. Yes I know it is just a greek salad. Simple, but outstanding. We didn’t try the homemade pita, but I think we should 😉
PaleOMG’s pizza crust from her newest cookbook. The best gluten free and paleo crust I have made!
Crunchy peanut butter. We usually always buy smooth, since that is what Michael likes and I usually have some different kind of almond butter. But I bought crunchy for some recipe testing and I love it. Michael was opposed to me buying it but now that is all he is eating!
Alright, think that sums up March. Excited to see what April brings!
