Doing things
We did a lot this month. At first I was like hmm, but then I looked through my photos and the calendar and was like oh yeah, this, this, and that. A lot of fitness and eating.
The first weekend started off with The Horrible Hundred. And winning!! Recap above. We went out to Round Rock that night which was a change of pace but super fun! Lots of drinks were had. The next weekend my CrossFit gym had a competition between us and two other boxes. I was on the alpha team and we won! The competition went way too long, but the events were fun and it was a good time. The next day I ran the Cap10k for the first time. So many people. But it was fun. I wasn’t trying to PR or anything, but was happy of my time of 48 minutes.
Michael and I celebrated 2 years in Austin! It is crazy that we have been here for 2 years already, it doesn’t seem like it. Things are going great and we love it here. We celebrated the same way we did when we arrived in Austin, walking to Pint House Pizza for pizza and beers.
The next weekend we attended a curry cook off put on by Austin Food Blogger Alliance. I freaking love curry and all the tastings were so good. We also went to play Top Golf later that day with some friends. My first time playing and it was so fun! Definitely want to do it again.
My friend Becca invited us over for Sunday Passover Sedar last weekend. Good gosh, Jewish people know how to feed people! There was so much good food. I was in heaven. It was cool seeing her traditions too. Oh and I also got a real camera! Excited to step up my photography game!
What I am loving
Smoothie bowls. The love is going strong and I don’t see it frizzling out anytime soon. I have been changing them up here and there, but they usually always have spinach in them.
Love and Lemons new cookbook! This book is absolutely gorgeous. It isn’t arranged by meal types, but by vegetables [insert heart eye emoji]. I have tried the peanut noodle kale bowl and the carrot ribbon tacos, both fantastic. And both were super easy to make, which is key in my busy life. Definitely will be trying more this month.
Changing up my workout routine. I have been adding more of a mix between Crush workouts and CrossFit. Even though CrossFit is constantly varied, it feels good to be doing other types of workouts as well and not just focusing all my efforts on that.
Looking forward to May – my first mini triathlon (it’s happening tomorrow!), going home for my sister’s graduation, and whatever else we decide on doing!
