A higher rep CrossFit WOD consisting of thrusters & burpees.

Thrusters & Burpees

Congrats to the Cleveland Cavaliers! Did anyone watch the game last night? Man that was a nail biter. The bf is a Cleveland sports fan (unfortunately for him lol), so we have been following the series pretty closely. This is the city’s first championship. Like ever! So cool for LeBron to win one for his hometown city. That city is probably going to be wild this week.

I did this workout last year, but since I did one similar to it recently, I figured I would post about this one. Because who doesn’t like thrusters & burpees?!? I kid, no one really likes them.

For Time:
27-21-15-9
Thrusters (40% of 1RM push press)
Bar Facing Burpees

This WOD is a shorter one. You should finish under 16 minutes. It is meant for you to keep moving through the thrusters & burpees. I would break up the thrusters in 2-3 sets for the first round, 2-3 for the second, 2 for the third, and then all 9 to finish out. The burpees you need to just keep moving. A good trick is to jump and slightly spin in the air so you are facing the bar again. That saves you some time from turning around once you land.

The thruster weight was a little lighter than I am used to using so that made those easier. It really just depends on what your push press is. None of my lifts are really strong, so going off percentages usually helps me. I finished in 10:46RX.

Thrusters & Burpees

What are your most hated movements in CrossFit? Burpees, thrusters, rowing…?
