A recap of my weekly workouts from the previous week.
Happy freakin’ Monday!!! Pretty pumped about today because I’m currently in San Diego! We have a wedding on Wednesday so we decided to make a little trip out of it and stay for the week. Best decision ever! I used to live in San Diego and we are staying in the same town I used to live in – right down the street from my old place actually. Bringing back all the memories.
Last week wasn’t filled with too much working out. I was getting over being sick in the beginning of the week and with going on vacation at the end of the week, I didn’t want to push my luck and not get back to 100%. I was recovered on probably Monday, but took Tuesday off just in case.
My old self would have freaked out – not being able to workout right before a vacation where I’ll be in a bathing suit and probably eating and drinking off plan. Well I’m so glad that was the old me. Don’t me wrong, I’m not perfect and I still struggle with this kinds of things, but I now know it doesn’t work like that. Getting in 2 extra workouts before vacation is not going to give me a 6-pack. And missing 2 workouts is not going to make be gain 5 pounds.
I did what I could last week and made it work. Some weeks will be better than others and learning to go with the flow has given me so much freedom and peace of mind when it comes to working out and my body image. Like I said, I’m still a work in progress, but not being so strict on myself the past 8-12 months has made such a difference in my mindset.
Good news is, San Diego weather is freakin awesome and it’s hard not to be active here. We are staying a few blocks away from the beach and a mile from the ocean. So far I’ve already had two really good runs in the morning and I’m planning to hit up a CrossFit gym this week. Cheers to a fun week and I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!
